Laurel Cinematic Arts & Creative Technologies Magnet Home

The Laurel Cinematic Arts and Creative Technologies Magnet community (teachers, staff, administrators, parents, and guardians) will work collaboratively to provide students with purposeful, engaging, and differentiated instruction that develops and nurtures both academic and emotional intelligences.  Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of Common Core State Standards during peer led instructional conversations, through writing, by completing projects, and on various state, district, and teacher generated tests.  Students are also expected to be good citizens, demonstrating healthy interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, adaptability, empathy, anger management, and impulse control.  Teachers, as well as students, will develop strategies and instruction to support these healthy character traits.  It is the expectation of the Laurel Cinematic Arts and Creative technologies Magnet   community that an emphasis on both academic and emotional intelligences will have a positive synergistic effect on student academic achievement and citizenship.  All students will be given the opportunity for individual expression through the cinematic arts and creative technologies.
